The Global Icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas is an Indian actress and former Miss World who was born on 18 July 1982, in the city of Jamshedpur, in the state of Bihar now (Jharkhand). Priyanka Chopra is the daughter of physicians Ashok Chopra and Madhu Akhauri. Her younger brother is her only sibling. She lived in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Newton, Massachusetts, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa as a child.

Early Years

She attended Lucknow's La Martiniere Girls' School. She subsequently moved to the United States and attended Newton South High School in Newton, Massachusetts, and John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She then went to India to complete her high school education at the Army School in Bareilly. She then went to Mumbai's Jain Hind College but left after winning the Miss World pageant.

In the year 2000, she was the first runner-up in the Femina Miss India pageant. She went on to win the Miss World title after that. She became the sixth Indian woman to win the title and the fourth in a space of seven years.

Career

Priyanka made her acting debut in the Tamil film Thamizhan in 2002. After that, she made her Bollywood debut in 2003 with the film The Hero: Love Story of a Spy. It was the year's highest-grossing film. After that, she starred in Andaaz, which was a box office hit.
